Perioperative Blood Management policy and procedure manual available on Infonet
The UPMC BioTronics clinical group has produced a comprehensive document covering all aspects of perioperative autologous blood management. Areas covered include blood recovery with and without processing, normovolemic hemodilution, and component therapies of platelet gel, fibrin glue, autologous conditioned plasma, and bone marrow aspirate concentration. This document is based on the American Association of Blood Banks Standards for Perioperative Autologous Blood Collection and Administration.
The document has been posted on Infonet and UPMC hospital internal websites, which can be accessed by selecting the hospitals tab on the Infonet homepage.
